The purpose of the course is to provide an interactive learning resource for existing or pre-start social enterprises, to develop an understanding and awareness of the key issues faced in developing successful social enterprises. The course is intended for use by those operating social enterprises day-to-day, as well as Directors, Trustees and Members of Management Committees. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the key areas involved in managing and developing a social enterprise. It is not expected that you will be experts in these fields, but rather that you develop a broad awareness which you can build on over time.
The course contains five modules that can be undertaken in isolation if desired, although as the modules follow a logical sequence, they are most beneficial when undertaken collectively in order to form a comprehensive learning experience. Modules include:
